Beginners Courses
The Bowmen of Rutland regularly hold beginners courses to introduce people to the sport of archery.During the year the Bowmen of Rutland run two indoor beginners courses, these are held at Casterton Business and Enterprise College starting in September and January. We also hold outdoor beginners courses during the summer at our ground.
A beginners course consists of six sessions lasting 1 ½ hours each. During the course you will be supplied with all the necessary equipment that you will need to shoot. You will be taught by members of the club. The Bowmen of Rutland are lucky to have a membership that includes one county coach, four GNAS coaches and two Level 1 coaches.
The courses are open to all ages, normally we say eight is the youngest that they can start but we decide on an individual basis.
The next beginners course will begin on Monday 20th February 2012 at Catesterton Buisness And Enterprise College, Great Casterton, it will run for 6 weeks. The club is already booking places for this course. Another course will be run starting Tuesday 15th May 2012 at our Greetham Valley shooting ground, this will also run for 6 weeks.
