A great start to Start Archery Week

Wow, what a great start!

The sun came out and shone on our Family Fun Afternoon. It was great to see members enjoying the afternoon, both new members and longstanding members.

Members shot a fun shoot called Pot Luck where the method of scoring varied every end but the method was unknown until all arrows had been shot, then the younger members and visitors picked the scoring method, some examples of scoring used included gold scores 0, only the first arrow in a colour counts so 3 in the 8 just scores 8, blue is 0.

Our have a goers, who were family members decided that this was so much fun that they scored their arrows too.

At the end of the shoot, we all sat in the sunshine enjoying each others company and drinking tea and coffee and enjoying some homemade cakes.

Prizes were awarded to the winners, not the traditional medals and trophies but club vouchers, archery key rings, archery pens, wristbands and chocolate.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and took part, a special mention to Pam, Kerry and James who helped the Have A Goers to have a great time.

A great afternoon.
