Meet our coaches
Level 2 Coach
Gordon has achieved First Class classification in both recurve and compound archery. However, an eyesight problem in 2002 curtailed his activities and his desire to compete. At about that time he became a coach and has been a Level 2 coach for a number of years. He is also a past Chairman and Treasurer of the club. Gordon is determined to extend the same warmth and support to new members that he received and makes a point of joining the newer archers on the shooting line. He likes to think that his coaching style reflects and projects his passion for the sport.
Charlie is our newest coach, completing his Level 1 training during COVID. He is a very enthusiastic coach, and led all our 2022 beginners courses and is coaching club members on our monthly coaching session. At the end of 2022 he completed his Level 2 training to gain his Development Coach qualification. Charlie will be the lead coach on our April beginners course.
Level 1 Coach
Ian joined the club in 2009 having attended one of our beginners courses. He qualified as a Level 1 coach in 2018. Ian mainly shoots longbow with occasional outings for his recurve bow. With his "other hat" on Ian is also a Level 2 Clay Pigeon shooting coach and has been known to organise clay shooting events for the Bowmen of Rutland.
